Hypoxia Option 

The AS-500 chamber with the Hypoxia Option can precisely control oxygen, creating the ideal hypoxic environment for microaerophiles, or it can maintain fully anaerobic conditions for obligate and facultative anaerobes. The Hypoxia Option can be configured ready-to-use for a new chamber or as a field upgrade to any existing AS-500 anaerobic chamber.

Hypoxia Option

With the Hypoxia Option, the AS-500 chamber can precisely control oxygen levels from 0.1 – 10% (+/- 0.1%) for culturing a variety of microorganisms including foodborne, animal and human pathogens as well as other microaerophilic microbes. Hypoxic mode can easily be turned off and on at the push of a button providing the ideal solution for flexible atmospheric control between anaerobic and hypoxic conditions.

  • Upgrade to anaerobic chamber without changing gas mix: The AS-500 hypoxia upgrade does not require a special gas mix or multiple gas tanks, meaning lower operating cost and more convenience for users.
  • Flexibility and compatibility: The AS-500 hypoxia upgrade  can be applied to all existing and new AS-500 chambers and users can switch back and forth freely between hypoxic and anaerobic modes with the push of a button.
